Smile: The Exhibition.
Opened in Ängelholm-Sweden during April 2004, the Smile exhibition became an instant success with over 600 visitors in 11 days and started an epidemic of smiling! Here are just a few of the many comments received about the show: "A fantastic exhibition. Thank you for a wonderful experience." "Thanks for a super exhibition. I loved seeing these happy people." "Great to see all these smiles from around the world. There is not only misery... the world is better than we think it is." The intention of the Smile book and exhibition is to show everybody that our world is in fact a joyful one. TV and newspapers give us a false picture of reality consisting only of war, famine, murder, corruption, catastrophes, terrorism and so on. In over 25 years of travelling the world my experience has been one of peace and happiness: normal people living normal lives and being happy with that. We create the world we live in and by focusing on negativity that becomes our experience; so let's wake up to a better world. Smile is my contribution. The Smile exhibition consists of 40 Lambda color prints, size 40x60cm, framed with passeportouts, 50x70cm, in Nielsen matte gold metal frames and 2 prints at 80x120cm, mounted on foam board and framed in wooden frames. All the images are published in the book, Smile, that was released on the opening day of the exhibition. In September 2004 the Smile exhibition was showing in the Swedish university town Lund at the City Hall during the "Culture Night". During one day and one night over 2000 people came to see the exhibition and the response was again fantastic. The Culture Night is an event where the whole town is filled with cultural shows of all kinds and everybody goes out to see it all.
During December 2004 "Smile" made a success in Klippan's Art Hall with a large number of visitors repeatedly coming back for another smile dose.
